Adopt a Pflugerville trail: the commitment lasts beyond cleanup day
The city’s application sets out a year of stewardship, at least four maintenance visits and reports after each cleanup.

A cleaner stretch of trail starts with a practical promise. Pflugerville’s Adopt-A-Trail application asks an approved adopter to commit for at least one year and perform maintenance at least four times during that period. The work includes picking up litter, weeding and removing debris; city crews continue their regular maintenance.
The program welcomes individuals as well as families, neighborhoods, civic groups, schools and businesses. Staff determine which trails are adoptable and assign available locations on a first-come basis. Ask about availability before printing a group’s preferred trail name on a flyer.

The application, updated October 2025, also sets out costs: $25 for residents and local nonprofit organizations, and $100 for nonresidents and commercial organizations, including outside nonprofits. Fees apply upon approval and at renewal. Cleanup and trail-inspection reports are requested after each visit, so choose a coordinator who will handle the paperwork as well as the outing.
Build the year’s calendar before committing. A small reliable group may find four planned visits more manageable than one large gathering with no follow-through. Discuss supervision, drinking water, equipment and reporting with parks staff. The most valuable contribution is a routine the group can keep.
